About Katherine

Therapy can be an exciting and challenging journey. My belief is that you already have the skills to help you along the way, and my role is to help you strengthen those skills and add more to your toolbox. My therapeutic style is easy-going and relationship-centered. I like to incorporate both structure and some humor in my sessions to help create a relaxed environment for the journey of self-awareness and healing.  It is important to me that you know what to expect when you come to therapy and that you feel welcome here.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a supervisor designation which means I am licensed to provide counseling services to individuals in Ohio. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Scranton (yes, the town from The Office) in 2016 and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University in 2018.

I am passionate about growth and healing and have experience with several different types of therapy we may use in session as needed.  I utilize evidence-based practices including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy to assist clients on their therapy journey. I have experience working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, work stress, trauma, grief, and low self-esteem. I also work extensively with people who want to address gender, race, health, and social issues impacting their lives.  I often work with women’s health issues, LGBTQIA+ populations, college students, healthcare workers and therapists.

I am committed to providing trauma informed, gender affirming, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care.  I attend ongoing trainings to stay current in counseling best practices and culturally competent care.
